Benesch initiated a research and development project to integrate artificial intelligence, machine learning, and digital twins to streamline traditional pavement assessment workflows for public agency assets such as bridges and transit networks.

The project, which used Bentley’s i Twin applications, automated the digitization and integration of crack linework data, saving over 75% in manual field work.

This approach aims to enhance asset value, increase efficiency, and industrialize industry pavement management practices.
