The Department of Transportation (DOT) has announced the release of a plan to drive the adoption of complementary positioning navigation and timing (CPNT) services across the United States transportation system and within other critical infrastructure areas.

However, the vulnerability of GPS to jamming, spoofing, solar activity, and other disruptions has been a concern for many years.

The Department of Transportation’s plan to address these vulnerabilities and how quickly it can “drive adoption” of CPNT is unclear.
