The Linux Foundation has announced the formation of the Overture Maps Foundation, a collaborative effort to develop interoperable open map data.

The foundation aims to incorporate data from multiple sources, including Overture members, civic organizations, and open data sources, to enhance mapping services worldwide.

The foundation’s mission is to create reliable, easy-to-use, and interoperable open map data to enable current and next-generation map products.
