The National Emergency Management Agency, NEPA, of Nigeria has launched a geospatial centre in Abuja to provide early warning signals against disasters.

The centre provides real-time images that guide the deployment of human and material assets for life-saving missions in the event of a disaster.

The initiative is seen as a significant achievement of the administration of President, Bola Ahmed Buhari, in the area of Information Technology and efforts to mitigate the adverse effects of natural hazards on the Nigerian populace and their properties.
