The SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket has launched two new Galileo satellites from the Kennedy Space Center into medium Earth orbit.

This marks the 13th launch of the Galileo program, with the deployment of these two satellites ensuring the constellation has all required operational satellites plus one spare per orbital plane.

The Galileo Second Generation (G2) satellites are being developed by Thales Alenia Space and Airbus Defence and Space.
