U.S., U.K., and Australia Collaborate on Deep Space Radar Capability
04 December 2023
The Deep Space Advanced Radio Capability (DARC) will be hosted and operated by the United States, Australia, and the United Kingdom, enhancing collective space domain awareness.
The first DARC radar site, expected to be operational in 2026, will be constructed in Exmouth, Western Australia.
The DARC will provide 24/7, all-weather capabilities to track and characterize objects deep in space, supporting space defense initiatives, space-traffic management, and global surveillance of military and commercial satellites.
