BlackSky has signed a $50M contract with the Indonesian Ministry of Defense to provide access to commercial space-based intelligence and to build a sovereign capability for the country in the future.

The Indonesian Minister of Defense was granted access to real-time space intelligence less than a month after signing the contract.

BlackSky will also be working with Thales Alenia Space to build and deliver sovereign EO and SAR satellites, providing the nation with surveillance capability at a fraction of the cost and time of designing a homegrown capability.
