The UK has announced a new Framework for PNT Resilience and Innovation, similar to Japan’s QZSS, which will focus on developing a Lunar Orbiting Network (LIO PNT), terrestrial broadcast 5G/ Mesh/SoO system, and promoting the growth of its quantum timing and navigation industry.

The framework will be divided into two phases, with UK-sourced timing provided to a UK space-based augmentation system (SBAS), a terrestrial broadcast eLORAN network, and national GPS interference monitoring systems.

An international partnership with Australia is also planned, with the UK Department for Transport leading the initiative.
