Researchers from the University of Texas at Austin have identified an Israeli air base as a significant source of GPS disruptions affecting civilian airline navigation in the Middle East.

The disruptions, which involve the transmission of manipulated GPS signals, can cause airplane instruments to misdirect their location.

The Israeli military has declined to comment on the issue.
