A Sino- Kenyan forum, the 2023 Supermap GIS software innovation conference, has been held in Nairobi to discuss the use of geospatial technologies in agriculture, urban planning, and natural resource management.

The conference, organized by Kenya’s Directorate of Resource Surveys and Remote Sensing and Chinese firm Supermap, gathered government officials, academia, private sector representatives, and GIS and remote sensing experts from both countries.

The conference also highlighted the potential of geospatial technology in land management and planning, and in providing sustainable impact assessment tools for the environmental, social, and economic effects of multi-functional land use.
