Dr. Bradford Parkinson, at a reception in Houston to celebrate GPS’ 50th anniversary, discussed the future of GPS control segments and the current state of the technology.

He noted that there are no fundamental differences between GPS today and the design from 50 years ago, and that children today take GPS for granted.

The Advisory Board discussed how to address these issues in their future meetings.
