The European Commission has welcomed the political agreement reached between the European Parliament and the Council on the Artificial Intelligence Act (AI Act).

The Act, proposed by the Commission in April 2021, aims to contribute to the development of global rules and principles for human-centric AI.

The EU’s AI Act is the first-ever comprehensive legal framework on artificial intelligence worldwide.
