The European Space Agency (ESA) has launched the Maritime Sustainability Task Force, the third such initiative in the past twelve months, as part of its strategy to generate significant green, social, and economic impacts on Earth.

The Task Force, which was initiated by ESA’s Business Applications and Space Solutions (BASS) programme, will work with major players in the maritime sector to identify and agree on short and long-term priority areas and foster the adoption of space-based solutions.

The task force also includes shipyards, foundations, industry associations, and maritime clusters.
