NASA researchers at the Langley Research Center in Virginia have successfully flown multiple Alta 8 UAVs beyond visual line of sight (BVLOS) without a visual observer.

The unmanned flights were observed from a remote control room, setting the stage for a thriving industry of electric air taxis and UAVs by 2030.

The tests are part of NASA’s Advanced Air Mobility Mission (AAM), which aims to enable safe autonomous flight and integrate new vehicles into the national airspace.
