BTG Positioning Systems and GPR Ground Positioning radar have signed a $40 million multi-year contract to develop and supply advanced positioning technology for port automation.

The partnership aims to improve precision and reliability of traditional positioning systems, and integrate ground-penetrating radar into BTG’s suite of solutions.

The technology could also reduce financial barriers to automation for port operators by reducing initial investment and ongoing operational costs.
